What German Transport Company Said?
A spokesman for the German shipping container company Hapag said on Friday that the company will continue to divert its ships from the Suez Canal for security reasons.
The spokesman added that the next assessment of the situation will be made on the second of January
This month, major shipping companies such as Hapag Lloyd and Maersk stopped using routes through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal due to the targeting of ships by the Yemeni Houthi movement, disrupting global trade.
These companies began to divert ships to the Cape of Good Hope route to avoid attacks, which increased the fees required from customers, and added days or weeks to the time of transporting goods from Asia to Europe and to the east coast of North America
