The Japanese auto giant (Toyota) concluded the year 2023 on a resounding scandal after revealing that its famous brand (Daihatsu) falsified the results of safety tests of its vehicles for more than 30 years, which prompted the brand to suspend production at all its factories in Japan
A spokesman for Daihatsu said that the company, known for manufacturing small passenger cars, stopped production at all four of its Japanese factories starting last Tuesday, including the plant headquartered in Osaka.
According to the spokesman, the lockdown will last until at least the end of January, affecting almost 9,000 employees working in local production units
